Details to follow.
On Sunday, September 27, 2026, the 60th anniversary of the Shrine of Our Lady of Šiluva at the National Shrine in Washington, D.C., will be commemorated with a special Mass. The St. Andrew Choir Laisvė, directed by Ilona Babinskas, has been honored with an invitation to sing for this celebration.
The original chapel at the National Shrine was dedicated in 1966. It commemorates the 1608 Marian apparitions in Šiluva, Lithuania, which are among the earliest approved by the Catholic Church. This Lithuanian chapel takes its name from the small town where Mary appeared in 1608 and in which Lithuania’s oldest Marian Shrine resides. The chapel decoration reflects Lithuanian folk art.
